Govt. Girls, Higher secondary School is situated at Irijalakuda in Thrissur District, Kerala state, India. This institution was established in 1892. In early years admission to this institution was only to girls from aristocratic Hindu families. Later the gate of this school was opened to all communities. At that time this was the only girls' institution within the radius of 15 sq. kms. To be a student of this institution was a symbol of dignity and nobility.
